Since 2013, the National Meeting of Chemistry Students (Encontro Nacional de Estudantes de Química – ENEQUI) has gathered students from all Portuguese universities with the aim of deepening their interest in differrent areas of chemistry. Over the years, we have had the participation of internationally renowned chemists, presenting their scientific work and their experience in this amazing science.

The 2020 edition, which was scheduled for the city of Porto, was cancelled due to the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, in order to ensure the safety of the event, we decided to replace ENEQUI with the Digital Colloquium of Chemistry Students in Portugal. The event was 100% online format and it was attended by more than 1000 students, researchers and teachers from all over the world.

In 2022, the face-to-face format is back, with ENEQUI 2022 taking place in the historic city of Coimbra. The last time this event visited the city, more than 300 students attended the lectures of Ada Yonath (Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2009), Sir Martyn Poliakoff and Robert Paton.
